Reconnect Pathway

Our Reconnect Pathway supports students who may have experienced disruption in education, difficulties with engagement, or barriers that have affected their confidence and attendance in school, including young people experiencing Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA). Designed around strong relationships, flexibility, and therapeutic support, the pathway helps students rebuild trust in education and successfully re-engage with learning at a pace that is right for them.

The pathway follows a structured four-stage approach: Stabilisation, Engagement, Structured Learning, and Reintegration and Full Provision. Students are gradually supported from safe re-engagement and relationship building through to increased confidence, routine, curriculum access, and successful participation in school life.

Students benefit from personalised timetables, 1:1 or smaller group learning, consistent pastoral and therapeutic support, and meaningful learning experiences that help them feel safe, understood, and ready to succeed. Through this graduated approach, the Reconnect Pathway helps young people develop confidence, resilience, independence, and a renewed sense of belonging within education.
